How to lose a VA in 10 days

Posted on 20 November 2009 by Lisa Wells

A few of my VA friends and I were chatting and started to come up with “How to lose a VA in 10 days”…

1. Partner with a VA to manage your website but then continue to manage it yourself. This tells us that you aren’t ready to let go or delegate…

2. Don’t communicate with them. VAs thrive on collaboration, clear communication of projects, expectations, and ‘being in the know’. When you are trying to handle projects without their input then things just don’t work smoothly, especially when you try to bring them in during the middle.

3. Never give deadlines but then ask a gazillion times “what is the status?”

4. Give your VA tasks that has been made pretty clear they don’t like to do. You know when you are dating a guy and you want to “change him” – it sorta feels like that…

5. Ask a VA to call one of your customers, and then call them yourself before s/he gets the chance. Don’t inform your VA that you have already contacted them. (Jennifer - http://www.YourTrustedAssistant.com)
